irial coefficients and inversion curve of simple and associating fluids

چکیده
Free energy simulation method is applied to calculate the virial coefficients of square-well (SW) fluids of variable well-width and square-well based dimer forming associating fluids. In this approach, Monte Carlo sampling is performed on a number of molecules equal to the order of integral, and configurations are weighted according to the absolute value of the integrand. An umbrella-sampling average yields the value of the cluster integral in reference to a known integral. By using this technique, we determine the virial coefficients up to B6 for SW fluid with variable potential range from =1.25 to =3.0 and model associating fluidswith different association strengths: εaf = 0.0, 8.0, 16.0 and 22.0. These calculated values

Predictions of the Joule-Thomson Inversion Curve for Water and Methanol from the LJ-SAFT EOS
In this work, we have calculated the Joule-Thomson inversion curve of two important associating fluids, namely water and methanol, from the SAFT equation of state. Comparisons with the available experimental data, for water and methanol indicate that this molecular based equation of state gives good prediction of the low temperature branch; but, unfortunately, due to lack of isenthalpic dat...
متن کاملirial coefficients of hard - core attractive Yukawa fluids
We used Mayer sampling technique—a method based on free energy perturbation, to calculate virial coefficients B2–B6 for hard-core Yukawa fluids with interaction range parameter, =1.8, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 8.0, 9.0, and 10. We used these coefficients in the virial equation of state (VEOS) to obtain compressibility vailable online 28 June 2009
متن کاملApplication of Carnahan-Starling-vdW-β Equation of State for Refrigerant Fluids
Herein, the application of Carnahan-Starling-vdW-β equation of state (EoS) for 13 refrigerant fluids was investigated. The EoS could predict the saturated liquid densities of these refrigerants over the temperature range of 100-400 K and pressures from zero up to187 MPa with the average absolute deviations of 2.66%. The accuracy of Carnahan-Starling-vdW-β EoS in liquid density prediction was al...
متن کاملA Modified van der Waals Mixture Theory for Associating Fluids: Application to Ternary Aqueous Mixtures
In this study a simple and general chemical association theory is introduced. The concept of infinite equilibrium model is re-examined and true mole fractions of associated species are calculated. The theory is applied to derive the distribution function of associated species. As a severe test the application of presented theory to the van der Waals mixture model is introduced in order to p...
متن کاملCorresponding-States Analysis of the Surface Tension of Simple, Polar, and Ionic Fluids
The liquid-vapor interfacial tension of various simple, polar, and ionic fluids is studied in a corresponding-states analysis originally suggested by Guggenheim [1]. The results for real fluids are compared to the corresponding ones for model fluids of each of the three types. For simple and weakly polar fluids, the data is mapped onto a master curve, as already demonstrated by Guggenheim. For ...
